Michigan approves 95 miles of new power lines despite concerns over ‘lazy’ route -MLive

“LANSING, MI - A pair of massive projects bringing nearly 100 miles of new high-voltage power lines that cut through the heart of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula have cleared a key hurdle on the long road to construction.

On Thursday, July 10, state regulators granted routing approval for the transmission lines, akin to the freeways of the power grid, while pausing to first blast the company behind them for showing a “blatant disregard” for the interests of landowners whose private property will be taken for the projects.”
